Radiator Repairs

Here at Radiator city, we still use the conventional and trusted rod out method to clean our radiators.

First we will inspect and test the radiators to determine the condition of the radiators. Thereafter the radiators will be stripped. Normally one sided, the top tank of the radiators get removed. Then the radiators are tested on a flow bench. This is to determine if the radiators is clogged or not. We will then rod out the tubes of the radiators to remove all scaling and blockage in the tubes, so as to improve the water-flow trough the radiators tubes. The top tanks of the radiators will then be refitted and resolderd to the radiators. After this we will again pressure test the radiators to see if there is any leaks. If leaks are found it will be repaired and radiators will be again pressure tested to ensure that radiators are sound and leak-free . Now we will do an external high pressure fin flush to remove obstruction and dirt in the radiators finning. Taking care not to high pressure flush to near to the core, as to avoid damaging the fins. Fin flushing is done to ensure a proper and even air flow trough the radiators finning.This is crucial for the radiators to operate correctly. Clean water-flow versus clean airflow gives you maximised cooling capacity. Finn combing is now done to also improve the air flow and to enhance the appearance of the radiators so as to have it look as good as new. Hi heat quick dry enamel paint in different colours according to customers request or make and model of vehicle is used to repaint the radiators. And there you have it ˵Bobs ur Uncle˶.

We also do radiator flushing. This is only done on customers request. Radiator flushing is a cheaper alternative but not a very reliable method.
